Stop Double Taxation on Secondhand Clothing!
Campaign Overview.
The Problem
Secondhand items, including clothing, repairs, and alterations, are often taxed twice: once when new and again when resold or repaired.
The Impact
Double taxation increases the cost of secondhand items, repairs, and alterations, making them less appealing to consumers. As a result, more items end up in landfills, contributing to waste.
Our Goal
To raise awareness and eliminate double taxation on secondhand clothing, repairs, and alterations, promoting sustainability and consumer savings.

“Many states tax secondhand goods, including thrifted items, repairs, and alterations. This means consumers pay sales tax twice: first when the item is new and again when it's bought secondhand. I'm signing the petition to end double taxation on secondhand clothes. Join me! https://tinyurl.com/ye24h4t9”
